cross cutTINGThis project requires you to film two stories occurring at the same time, for example, two students trying to get to class starting at different locations around the school. Showing multiple stories occurring at the same time is called cross cutting or parallel editing.

MATCH CUTSAlong with cross cutting you need to demonstrate at least 2 match cuts in your mini project. A match cut is when the cut from one shot is visually matched (or linked) by action or subject matter.
An example of matched action could include first shot of subject running left to right of screen and second shot a different person running left to right of screen. This second shot could be in a different location. An example of subject matter match cut could include; first shot is a close up shot of an apple and second shot is of a tennis ball framed and positioned exactly the same as the apple. |
