NARRATIVE STRUCTURENarrative films follow a very clear structure, which includes the use of a clear opening sequence, the development of plot. and a resolution. Narrative films therefore follow what's called a three act structure.
|
OPENING, DEVELOPMENT & RESOLUTION OF THE NARRATIVEThe opening sequence has several purposes:
We need to not only look at the Opening, but how the film develops from this point, and how these ideas are resolved at the end of the film. Some narrative films don't resolve all ideas at the end, instead leaving the audience to consider what happens next. |
